Evidently frustrated by having his message eclipsed by the stunning behavior of President Donald Trump, thin-skinned Governor Larry Hogan is now lashing out at constituents on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Hogan, who has blocked constituents from his Facebook page<\/a> in the past, put up a post<\/a> on redistricting on June 3.\u00a0 The post linked to an article<\/a> blasting General Assembly Democrats on a website run by right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham<\/a>.\u00a0 But some folks weren\u2019t buying what Hogan was selling and that set the Governor off.<\/p>\n

One person posted \u2013 politely \u2013 on President Trump\u2019s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate treaty.<\/p>\n

Hogan accused her of \u201cspouting off.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Hogan wasn\u2019t done, saying, \u201cYou obviously have no idea what you are talking about\u201d and referring to her comments as an \u201coff topic, incorrect rant.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Another constituent expressed support for the General Assembly\u2019s bill providing for multi-state redistricting, which Hogan vetoed.\u00a0 Hogan said she was part of a \u201ctiny minority\u201d and encouraged her to \u201cstop liking our page.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And that wasn\u2019t enough.\u00a0 Hogan came back for more even as outraged constituents pushed back.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When another constituent asked about the Paris climate treaty, Hogan responded, \u201cYou are not only off topic but ill informed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When asked about the climate treaty again, Hogan said, \u201cYes. We are leading the nation on this subject. Pay attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Facebook can be an unruly environment for political discussion.\u00a0 Constituents are real, live people and don\u2019t always restrict their remarks to the topics favored by politicians.\u00a0 Elected officials and candidates have a right to ban racist, anti-Semitic, bigoted, sexist, profane or libelous commentary from their pages.\u00a0 But none of the above comments fall into those categories.\u00a0 None of them warrant the rude responses written under the Governor\u2019s name.<\/p>\n
