The amendment would convert the county council from its current structure of 4 at-large seats and 5 district seats to 9 district seats, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theseventhstate.com\/?p=13396\">the same council structure used by Prince George&#8217;s County from 1982 through 2018<\/a>.  The amendment needed 10,000 valid signatures to qualify.  The group submitted 16,391 signatures and the board found 11,522 to be valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The board&#8217;s letter to the group is reprinted below.  It contains a tally of the reasons why signatures were accepted and rejected.
