The order includes but is not limited to &#8220;all private pay schools, schools affiliated with religious institutions, or schools that are otherwise considered to be independent schools.&#8221;  The order as currently drafted applies through October 1, 2020.  Gayles cites <a href=\"https:\/\/governor.maryland.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Gatherings-10th-AMENDED-7.29.20.pdf\">State Executive Order  20-07-29-01<\/a> as giving him the authority to institute the shutdown.
