The State Board of Elections (SBE) has been mailing ballots to voters for weeks. Voters may mail ballots back to SBE, drop them off at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elections.maryland.gov\/elections\/2020\/20_PP_Vote Centers_and_Drop off Locations.pdf\">vote centers<\/a> or vote at the vote centers on election day (June 2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SBE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/local\/md-politics\/mail-in-ballot-delays-in-maryland-threaten-statewide-primary-activists-say\/2020\/05\/26\/ee05134e-9c59-11ea-ad09-8da7ec214672_story.html\">has had some delays in mailing ballots<\/a>, especially in Baltimore City and Montgomery County. The fact that the ballots are <a href=\"https:\/\/baltimorebrew.com\/2020\/05\/05\/ballots-for-marylands-june-2-primary-have-incorrect-date\/\">marked with the wrong date<\/a> may be an issue for some voters. And since this is the first primarily vote-by-mail election, there may be voters who have not adjusted and anticipate voting at their precincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Could the potential problems above have impacted voting? The table below shows ballots sent by SBE and received by SBE by county as of May 26 (yesterday). Also included are turnout rates from the 2016 primary. Turnout is waaaaaaay down \u2013 so far. Montgomery County\u2019s turnout rate of 4% is particularly abysmal. But let\u2019s bear in mind that there were still seven days to go until the election when this data was released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These totals are going to increase in coming days.
